“Just trust yorself” is a suggestion that I am sure many of us have been told over the years and yet it is one of the hardest things to do. It is true that deep down we all know what to do in any given situation, and the answers are always inside of us, yet throughout life we are often programmed not to trust that small voice within.
Intuition is the whisper of the soul.Krishnamurti
This could begin with something as small as being told that you are not hungry as a child, when you know that you are, or being forced to finish your dinner even though you are full. As an adult we can overlook the small incidents that take plalce in childhood and think they are insignificant, but over time these small incidents become habits and patterns.
We have to listen to the child we once were, the child who still exists inside us.Paulo Coelho
It has taken me many years of conscious effort to actually hear my inner voice, and then it took even longer to listen to it. Intuition is something that we are born with and it is a tool that we need to navigate this earth, yet if we can feel something intuitively we may want to check in with someone else to see what they think about the matter and this immediately defeats the purpose. If something comes to you intuitively then it is for you to act on it and then the reason may become apparent to you later. When we ask someone else what they think about the matter they can only look at things from their perspective without our intuitive knowledge.
Always trust your first gut instincts. If you genuinely feel in your heart and soul that something is wrong, it usually is.Anonymous
Intuition is commonly described as a gut feeling, and in modern times with all of the distractions that we face each day it is very easy for these feelings to be brushed off. In ancient times if you had a gut feeling that you were approaching somewhere dangerous, you could have seconds to make a decision that would save your life. Nowadays it is usually less dramatic however the information that our gut is presenting to us is just as strong and reliable. When you get a gut feeling you are experiencing millions of neurons in your digestive tract “talking to your brain via the vagus nerve.” This sourve of information is very reliable because the body, mind and higher self can sense and intuit things that our human brain may not be able to perveive.
Always trust your gut, it knows what your head has not figured out yet.Anonymous
Our bodies are amazing, however, in order for the process of the gut communicating with the brain via the vagus nerve to take place the gut must be healthy. If the gut health has been compromised and damaged through excessive processed foods, GMO’s and pesticides then the signals may be inaccurate due to chemical damage. In modern society, especially if you are living in a city it is virtually impossible to avoid all toxins and chemicals and our bodies have evolved to handle this, but this does not remove the responsibility from us to help our bodies where we can. This can be in the form of exercising, ensuring that we have a good clean water supply, eating organic where possible, taking time in nature and away from technology and screens, and ensuring that we get sufficient rest.
As you continue to work on yourself, and clean up your diet and get more exercise you will begin to notice that you can hear your intuition more clearly.
